DAY 12 - QUIET DAY/RYAN BREAKS KAYAK PADDLE
Hot, hot day here on the beach.
Apparently Ryan and Todd had quite a struggle with each other overnight as to who had the bigger chunk of the bed. Todd claims he was hanging onto the edge of the bed for most of the night; Ryan doesn't think so. Anyway, I guess they did get some sleep. Ryan and I got up fairly early, probably around 6:00 o'clock as we were well rested. Todd got up around 7:00.
Today is more of a relaxing day for me and for the boys as well I guess. Ryan and Todd grabbed a kayak and went kayaking up to the headland just north of the hostel here. There they found a secluded beach and some cool rock cliff formations. They hung out there for a bit and then decided to head back. As Ryan was pushing the kayak off the beach with the paddle, he broke it; that is, he broke the paddle. He was concerned about how much the hostel might charge him for it so when they got back Ryan got on the internet and ordered a new paddle on E-Bay and had it shipped to the hostel. Ha, ha. When he told them he broke it, they weren't too concerned about it and told him not to worry about it but the new one was ordered anyway.
As for myself, I just relaxed for most of the day, checked out the stock market and worked on some of my blogs. After lunch we took a long walk south on the beach. There are tons and tons of new condo developments going up all along the beach. I got kind of curious to know the prices so went into the sales office of a huge development and found out that the prices range from about
$195,000 US for a new one-bedroom, and up. We walked back to the hostel, trying to stay out of the sun - it was so very, very hot in the sun. Later in the day Todd and Ryan decided they were going to book a day trip to Tayrona National Park for tomorrow. As for myself, I felt that I just wanted to relax for the day.
We had supper around 6:30 and retired around 9:00 o'clock. That's it for today.

Hubby, don't get any ideas about those condos - if you do, you'll be a very lonely man in that condo.
